Obituary of Betty Wood
Elizabeth Ann”Betty” Wood, 88, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, at the Aberdeen Hospital, on January 2nd.
She was the daughter of the late William Bill Russell and Mae (MacKinnon) Russell of Picken St. Westville.
After her children were older she worked in housekeeping at the Aberdeen. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Westville.
Betty will be sadly missed by her children, Kevin “Woody” (Tanya), Sonja (Chris), Tammy Snider (Danny), and Trevor (Crystal), and her brother James Russell (Helen). She also leaves her grandchildren; Stephen, Sarah, Marc, Kristofer, Ayla, Alysha, and Richie, eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Lillian MacLeod and Lorna Wood and brothers-in-law John (Leona), and James (Tina) Wood.
She was predeceased by her husband Chester Grant Wood, her best friend and sister Sally Emery, her brothers Angus and Clarrie Russell and nephew David.
Betty is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville where visitations will take place on Friday, January 5th, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Her funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 6th, at Eagles Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock. Please, family flowers only. Donations may be made in memory of Betty to the charity of your choice.
