Phyllis’ Obituary
COTTREAU, Phyllis Elizabeth – age 77, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in The Meadows on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023. Formerly of Wedgeport, she was a daughter of the late Maximin “Mack” and Marie (LeBlanc) Saulnier.
Phyllis was born and raised in Abram’s River. She married the love of her life, Ted, in 1968 and they went on to have three children. She did some bookkeeping for the family, but you may have seen her in the Wedgeport Credit Union where she was a bank teller for over 20 years. Through the years she enjoyed cross stitch and quilting, having made a quilt for each one of her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, and made THE BEST chocolate fudge that her co-workers at the Credit Union would get to enjoy every year around Christmas. Phyllis was quiet and could be shy at times. She loved her family with all of her heart, especially her grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her husband, taking Sunday drives and exploring new restaurants.
Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ted Cottreau; daughter, Krista (Jamie Doucette) Spinney; sons, Allison (Vanessa) Cottreau; and Byron (Vanessa) Cottreau, all from Wedgeport; brothers, Victor (Simone) Saulnier; Austin (Diane) Saulnier; Brian (Monette Comeau) Saulnier; grandchildren, Chelsey, Lindsey, Braidey, Gabrielle, Aiden, Damien; and great grandchildren, Sloane, Kennedy, and Winnie.
She is predeceased by her brothers, Roy (Miriam) Saulnier; David (Ann) Saulnier; and Paul in infancy.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Wedgeport. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8th, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Wedgeport funeral home. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Deacon Bruce officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
