Charles ‘Charlie”s Obituary
Charles “Charlie” Abraham Muise
August 3, 1921-January 23, 2024
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles “Charlie” A. Muise of Tusket, on January 23, 2024 at the age of 102, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather. Born in Hubbard’s Point, he was the son of the late Alfred Muise and Aimee Hubbard. He was predeceased by his brothers, Clifford, Julien, Elien, Steve, Toussaint; and his sisters, Janette Surette and Florence Saulnier. He is survived by his loving wife of 81 years, Anne (Annie) Bourque; sister, Emma; his children, Ronnie (Wanda Long), Andrea (Denny) Morrow, Nancy (Steve) Hutchinson), Diane (Jim) Covey, Kathleen (Robert) Collupy, Cleve, Elaine, and Brian (Julie Whalen); as well as 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Charlie was known as a devoted family man and very hard worker. He was employed by the Cotton Mill, 7-Up Sus, Kenny Construction and various other jobs in order to provide for his large family.
Charlie was a proud WW II veteran, who served overseas in England and Italy and was part of the liberation of Holland. As a lifelong member of St. Anne’s parish in Eel Brook, he sang in the choir and served as altar server. A faithful Christian, he was a member of the Parish Council for many years, he also participated in the Cursillo and Charismatic Movements, and his daily recitation of the rosary brought him great peace. As a loyal member of the Wedgeport Legion and the Knights of Columbus, he logged many volunteer hours.
Charlie derived great pleasure in his large gardens and watching the birds in his yard. He had a great love of cars, reading, music (you could always hear him whistling and singing), dancing, and playing cards. He loved a good joke and his humor and wit were evident in his fabulous story telling.
Charlie was a “people person”, a most kind, honest and generous man. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
By request, family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wedgeport Legion or the Knights of Columbus.
