Wayne Elliott – 81, Central Onslow, passed away on Monday,

daughter, Julie, Clarence Creek, Ontario; son, David (Michele) and
grandchildren, Danika, Tyler and Emilie, Limoges, Ontario; sister,
Cheryl (Brian) Simpson, Sus, New Brunswick; brother, Bartley
(Barb), Lower Sackville; in-laws, Doris Archibald (Stu Luddington),

nephew, Nathan Archibald.
Wayne retired from his National Vice President position of
UCTE after living many years in Ottawa.
His daughter, Julie said it best: “The world is a little
less sweet today. Heaven got a whole lot sweeter. My Dad was a friend
to all, the kindest man you’d ever meet and always there for
those he loved or those in need. He and Mum had the most amazing 60+
years together; he lived a good and long life, and loved his kids and
grandkids unconditionally. We were blessed. No more suffering, sleep
the sleep of angels. Until we meet again. I love you
more.”
A very special man left us to sing with the angels. Wayne was
a well-known musician and a most reliable person. He played with a
number of bands, organized many jams and musical events, and supported
local churches. He loved playing and singing.
Wayne, during his senior year of high school, excelled at
track and field and set the provincial record for the one mile race at
the Nova Scotia High School Headmasters Championships. This record was
held by Wayne for many years. Wayne also enjoyed hockey, baseball and
golfing. He and Gloria spent many, many hours at sporting venues
watching or helping Julie, David and the grandchildren. Wayne was
known for his thoughtfulness, his willingness to help others, his
great personality and his love for his family and
friends.
A special thank-you is extended to the caregivers for their
excellent care, humour and devotion. Thank you to the Doctors and
Nurses at the Palliative Care Unit of the CEHHC.
