Marion Claire Martin – 93, Millbrook First Nation,
passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Colchester East
Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of
the late MacKenzie and Jenny Works.
Marion was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church,
Millbrook. In earlier years, she worked at Fuller Brush Company and
then cleaned at St. Mary’s Elementary School and in private
homes. She loved to trap and hunt with her husband, Mike, and enjoyed
playing Bingo.
Marion is survived by her children, John (Margie) Shipley,
Enfield; Darlene (Nelson) MacPherson, Valley; Jacqueline (Creighton)
Miller, Bible Hill; Bernadette (Wayne) Peters, Tatamagouche; several
grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gerry McLeod,
Old Barns. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Michael; several grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Sadie) Works, Helen
McLeod, Betty (Don) Black.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m.,
Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Church
Road, Millbrook First Nation. Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery. If
so desired, donations in Marion’s memory to IWK Health
Centre Foundation are welcomed.
