Katharina Wall – 82, Noel, passed away peacefully,
surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Durango, Mexico,
she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Katharina (Peters)
Harder.
Katharina was the matriarch of our family and she will be
dearly missed. Family was of utmost importance to her and we all knew
how much she loved each and every one of us. She was a member of
Northfield Christian Fellowship for 20 years, and she took great
pleasure volunteering with the church’s clothing program,
helping to sort clothes before they were shipped overseas. She loved
to cook and bake and her family and friends will remember the
wonderful meals that she prepared over the years. Her rolls and buns
were absolutely delicious, and she would tell you that the secret was
to make sure that you were kneading “squeaky
dough”.
She had many various interests which included plants, bird
watching, raising chickens, massage therapy, embroidering, being a
midwife who delivered 130 babies and she had a soft spot for her many
cats. Her grandchildren and many others will miss the brown paper bags
filled with peanuts and chocolate that she would give out at
Christmas, and the never-ending stash of chocolates that she gave out
all through the year. She loved to tease and had nicknames for her
children and grandchildren!
Katharina is survived by her children, Henry (Maria) Wall,
Northfield; Katharina (Willie) Martens, Belize; Isaac Wall, Arborg,
Manitoba; Bernardo (Anna) Wall, Bridgewater; Peter (Klara) Wall,
Wingham, Ontario; Anna (Isaac) Penner, North Brookfield; John (Nettie)
Wall, Arborg, Manitoba; Jake (Tina) Wall, Vegreville, Alberta; Susan
(Norman) Plett, Northfield; Abram (Joanna) Wall, Arborg, Manitoba;

(George) Martens, Fordwich, Ontario; Lena (Philip) Martens, Gorrie,
Ontario; David Wall, Northfield; 130 grandchildren; 63 great
grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
