Joseph MacLellan
MacLellan, Joseph Primus – Age 95, Truro, passed away on May 13, 2024, in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Dunvegan, Inverness Co. He was a son of the late John Angus and Mary Maggie MacLellan.
He spent many years working for the Department of Transportation. He retired as an Ironworker with the Local 752 and was a longtime member of the Truro Legion.
Joe is survived by his children, Ralph, Darrell, Robert, Paul; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Kaye Bracebridge, Theresa, Chris (Charles) Clements, Dilla (Jack) Holland, Mary Burton, Jessie McNutt, Peggy Gorai; brothers, Peter and Norman (Maureen).
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Harriet “Hattie” (Welsh); brothers, Alex, Angus, Jim and Donald and Archie both in infancy; sister, Jessie in infancy; sisters-in-law, Kay, Helen, Pat, Muriel and brother-in-law, Ed.
Joe’s family would like to express their gratitude to VON and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #26.
Donations in Joe’s memory may be made to CEHHC “We Care About Cancer.”
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21st from 6-8pm. A Legion Tribute will begin at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 22nd followed by a Liturgy of the Word with Father Jim O’Connor, all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Burial will take place following the service in Watson Cemetery.
