It is with great
sorrow that the family of Bert Ross McCoul announce his passing on
Monday, June 3, 2024 at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in
Truro, he was a son of the late Arthur and Pearl (Marshall)
McCoul.
Bert was a loving
husband to his wife, Beverly (Roy) of 52 years. He was also an
incredibly loving father to his children, Tamara (Mike) Robar; Derek
McCoul (Elizabeth Slipp); his adored grandchildren, Justin and Olivia
Robar, they were his pride and joy. He enjoyed watching them grow,
cherished time with them and revelled in their accomplishments big and
small. Bert is also survived by siblings, Jim (Vicky) McCoul, Truro;
Brenda (Gary) Ross, Five Islands; Sherry (Richie) Scott, Truro;
several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister-in-law,
Rosealee Babineau.
While Bert loved and
valued his family immensely, he had a huge love for hockey, the
outdoors and enjoyed many years of golf with great friends. He
treasured the memories made trekking through the woods of Earltown
with his big brother, Jim. Bert was an employee of Canada Post for
many years but had to retire due to his battle with
Parkinson’s.
The family would like
to extend a thank you to the nurses and staff at Cedarstone for the
care and compassion shown to Bert during his stay and a special thank
you to Juanita, Tamara, Yvonne, Michelle and Janet who went above and
beyond. Also, a special thank you to his sister, Sherry for her
support and love during this difficult time.
A private graveside
service will held at a later date. If so desired, donations in memory
of Bert may be made to Parkinson Society of Nova Scotia. Arrangements
have been entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street,
