DeHaan, Antje “Ann” – Age 97, of Parkland Estates, Truro, passed away on March 26, 2024, at the age of 97. Born in Holland, she was the daughter of the late Oebele and Froukje (de Jong) Walstra.
Ann immigrated to Nova Scotia in 1951 with her husband, Jack DeHaan. They owned and operated a successful dairy farm, retiring at a young age in 1980. Retirement was spent enjoying winters in Florida, camping, travelling, boating, fishing, walking, needlepoint and playing cards with family and friends.
Besides her parents, Ann was predeceased by her brother, Fedde; her granddaughter, Kyla Michelle and her stepson, Terry Atkinson.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Debi (Butch) Atkinson; her sons, Ron (Toni-Lynn Thompson) and Ed. “Oma” will be missed by her grandchildren, Jake (Mindy Kohar), Jessica (Justin Grant), Chandra (Doug Jamer), and Kelly (Steve MacLeod); her step granddaughter, Kim Atkinson and her seven great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. No visitation or service by request. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com
