Obituary
Rasmussen, Marius – 72, Malagash, passed away November 13, 2023, at the Colchester East Hants Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Aarhus, Denmark he was a son of Jenny Rasmussen-Hasket. Carolyn and Marius moved to Truro and started their family. He worked at various companies like MacNeils, Conrad’s and Moffats throughout his trucking career. A career that gave him a lifetime supply of friends that are as close as family. Upon their return to Malagash in 1988 he started the north shores first ready mix plant, Rte. 6 Ready Mix. He grew his company through hard work and dedication until his retirement. He worked with many local companies supporting business entrepreneurs of the area. He loved camping, boating, being with friends and family, enjoyed a good meal and a great book. He valued his time with the grandkids above all else. Surviving are his children, Christopher Rasmussen (Tanya Shapoval), Wallace, Karla (Evan) Brown, Grand Prairie, AB; grandchildren, Emma Rasmussen (Chad Darragh), Linden, Josie Rasmussen, Finn Rasmussen, Nora Rasmussen, all of Tatamagouche, Olivia Brown, Grand Prairie; siblings, Janet (Al) Hogan, Moncton, Daniel Hasket, Malagash, step brothers, Peter (Michelle) Hasket, Huntsville, ON, Bob (Satchico) Hasket, Toronto and their families, several nieces and nephews. Besides his mother he was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Jamieson) Rasmussen, brother, Erik Hasket. A Celebration of Marius’ Life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash. Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Waugh Cemetery, Gulf Shore, with a reception at the family home, 1060 North Shore Road, Malagash. Donations in memory may be made to the Waugh Cemetery.
