Remembering Kim
Colburn, Kimberley Darlene – 64, Truro
We are deeply saddened to announce the tragic and unexpected passing of Kim Colburn, beloved sister, aunt, friend, and co-worker to so many. She passed Sunday, August 11, 2024, just six days before her birthday.
Born in Tatamagouche on August 17, 1959, Kim was the most vibrant, thoughtful, spirited, adventurous, strong, crafty, handy, productive and most organized person you could ever meet. If you ever needed someone to go to bat for you, it was her. There was no ignoring her presence when she walked into a room. She was an avid animal lover, continuously supporting the SPCA and helping dogs and cats find homes. She looked after the birds in her backyard and was especially attached to her revisiting cardinal, always posting pictures when he returned to his birdhouse. Working with the International Student Program, Kim touched the hearts of many, as was shown when we received a multitude of emails from locations worldwide expressing their sincere condolences. She will be truly missed. Kim was always active. In the past, she enjoyed playing softball, doing arts and crafts, taking road trips to various Frenchy’s locations in the province, biking the trails with her co-workers, and more recently, being involved with her book club where members would take turns hosting. Most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family.
Kim is survived by her brothers, Dennis Colburn (Mickey) and Tim Colburn (Joshlyn); sisters, Bobbie Colburn-Halverson (Ryan) and Janice Buckler (Kevin); very special aunt, Gloria Randall (Colburn); nieces, Nancy, Jade, Laura, Brie, Rielle, and Lienna; nephews, Dennis Jr., Sean, and Johnathan; along with many loving cousins and extended family.
Kim was predeceased by her mother, Eileen Buckler (Matheson) and her father, Edwin Colburn.
To ensure all family members, friends and colleagues can be present, Kim’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Truro Horseman’s Club at 288 Main St., Bible Hill on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 6 pm to close. Kim made it clear she wanted a party and for everyone to truly celebrate her life! Music, food, refreshments, and complimentary drinks will be provided. A Private Graveside Service will be held at The Falls at a later date.
Kim will never be far away and will always touch us with her uplifting spirit, and she would want us all to live our best lives and be the best we can be. Donations can be made in memory of Kim to the Colchester Branch SPCA (PO Box 914, Truro NS B2N 5G7)
Heartfelt messages may be posted in the online condolence section of this page.
Arrangements are under the direction of Coulter’s Funeral Home, 48 Riverside Dr., Tatamagouche.
