We, the family of Lillian Marie Redmond, regret to announce her passing on Monday, August 26, 2024, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born August 25, 1934, in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late William and Phyllis (Lanceleve) Murphy.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Sharon Mombourquette and Anne Marie (Steve) McLean; sons, Bill (Rose) Redmond and John Redmond; granddaughters, Amanda, Crystal and Allison (Anthony) Burke; grandsons, Shelby, John Michael and MacKenzie; and great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Delia, Chloe, Jack and Jasper; and sister, Heather (Donnie) Anderson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Redmond; sisters, Mary Sullivan and Emelie MacVicar; granddaughter, Sarah Marie; and son-in-law, Paul Mombourquette.
Thank you to Dr. Ryan Kelly and the staff in the palliative care unit for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Sydney Memorial Chapel. A private graveside service will be held in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
