With broken hearts, we the family, announce the peaceful passing of Esta Jean (Cameron) MacIntyre on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 1, 1963, Esta was a daughter of the late James and Esta (Watt) Cameron.
Esta was a lover of sports, being involved in a variety of leagues including softball, darts, and golf. She especially enjoyed spending time at the bungalow in Islandview where she competed in many washer toss tournaments with her friends and family. You could also find her sitting around the bonfire strumming her guitar and singing. Her passion also extended to her beloved animals who will miss her dearly. Above all else, Esta loved her family. She was an exceptional wife, mother, nanny, sister and daughter.
Esta is survived by her husband, Darrell; daughters, Meghan (Andrew) Campbell, Sydney and Shaylin MacIntyre (Blair MacIsaac), New Victoria; son, Derek (Michelle) Halden, Windsor, NS; grandchildren, Cameron, Lucas, Charlotte, Emma and Chloe; sisters, Judith (Robert) Allen, Sydney, Beverly (Glenn) White, Edmonton, AB and Edwina (Chris) Reid, Rimbey, AB; brother, David (Rose), Ft. McMurray; and sisters-in-law, Debbie MacIntyre (Mickey) and Darlene (Ray) Morrison.
Visitation will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, December 5th from 1-2 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed on the Sydney Memorial Chapel Facebook page.
The family would like to thank the Cape Breton Cancer Center, Palliative Care and VON doctors and nurses who were involved with her care.
