It is with deep sadness we announce the
sudden passing of Travis Michael
Killen, age 26. Travis passed on Saturday, October 21,
2023 in Fort Lawrence, NS, as a result of a motor vehicle
accident.
Born in Amherst, he was the son of Tammy
DiMichele, and the late Lee Killen.
Travis enjoyed spending time with family
and friends but especially enjoyed time with the love of his life Sara
and making his son Ace laugh and smile. He was an amazing dad to Ace
and couldn’t wait till Ace was old enough to be able to teach him how
to play sports and wrestle around with him. He also loved rapping and
music.
Travis faced many struggles in his life
and had just recently turned his life around to better times when
tragedy struck.
In addition to his mother Tammy and
Step-Father Darren Coates of Fort Lawrence, Travis is deeply missed by
his Partner and Mother of his child Sara Gabriel (Fort Lawrence);
Brothers Justin (Lindsay) DiMichele; and Dominick Coates of Amherst;
Sister Alexis (Nigel) Gallant of PEI ; and Step-sister Allie (Tanner)
Coates of Springhill; Nieces Paisley and Gabby and Nephew Tucker.
Maternal Grandparents Sheila DiMichele (Amherst) and Robert (April)
DiMichele of Ontario; Paternal Grandmother Leah Killen (Springhill);
Aunts Anna (Ted), Christine (Sean) of Amherst, Sonia (Ontario) and
Leanna (Matt) of Springhill, Uncles David (Vicky) and Roberto Jr.
(Ontario); including all of his many cousins and
friends.
Travis passed in the same accident as
his son Ace Adam Malachai Gabriel-Killen, and his mother in law Amanda
Gabriel.
He was predeceased by his Father Lee
Killen, and Paternal Grandfather Len Killen.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Family Funeral
Centre, 70 Church Street, Amherst, NS (902-667-8777)
where a funeral service remembering Travis’ life will be held on
Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 2 pm. A burial and Celebration of Life
will take place at a later date when his partner Sara Gabriel who is
recovering from her injuries is able to attend.
