COFFIN , Mary Aileen, age 92, Truro, formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, with family by her side in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Selma, she was a daughter of the late William and Lenna (Barton) Cook.
Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and hosting family and friends. She looked forward to summer vacations with Bill, travelling to see family in PEI every summer. She also enjoyed vacationing along the Gaspe Coast, and stopping at every fishing village along the way. Mary looked forward to watching her evening TV shows, especially TLC and Hallmark Christmas movies. She loved all animals, and you could often catch her admiring the deer outside. She also enjoyed the new to her technology, scrolling on her tablet with her beloved cat Grace by her side. Mary enjoyed her frequent lunch dates at Smitty’s in Truro, where the staff knew her and always was greeted with a smile.
Mary is survived by children, Roger, June (John) and Don (Sheila); daughter-in-law, Anita; grandchildren, Doug (Wendy), Michael, Vicky, Jennifer (Dave), Bill (Colleen), Robert (Shannon) and Michelle (Morgan); 9 great grandchildren; 3 great-great granddaughters; a great number of extremely close in-laws in Prince Edward Island; numerous nieces and nephews – many of with whom she was extremely close to. Special thanks to her friend, Debbie who kept her going.
She was predeceased by her husband and soulmate, Bill; children, Billy and Barbara Coffin; sisters, Beatrice Smith and Mary Cook; brothers, Ralph, Carl, Ross, Doug and Keith; nephew David and niece, Ruby.
