KAISER,
Victor Wallace “Vic” Age 93 of
St. Mary’s River, Guysborough County, passed away peacefully
on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.
Born in Port Bickerton, he was a son of the late Arthur and Etta Mae
(Horton) Kaiser. Victor was the last surviving member of his immediate
family. Vic was a loving husband and father who knew someone from
anyplace you could name in Nova Scotia and beyond. He charmed all his
caregivers in Shoreham Village where he last resided, and where he
received kind and compassionate care. He was a crane operator, a
member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 721,
Lower Sackville for 27 years. In his early years Vic was a long haul
truck driver. He was a member of Sonora Baptist Church and the Gideon
Society. He is survived by sons, Perry, Lunenburg; Peter (Ruth Dary),
Edmonton, Alberta; daughter, Penny Kaiser (Dan Zwicker), Lunenburg;
grandchildren, Daniel, Thomas and Peter Nightingale, Katelynn and
Rebecca Kaiser; great grandchildren, William and Ezra Nightingale;
sister-in-law, Mary Baker as well as special niece, Loretta Lambourne;
and several other nieces, nephews and their families. Vic was
predeceased by his loving wife, Ruby (Jordan); brothers, Willis,
James, Phillip, Wesley and Douglas in infancy; sisters, Rosa Kaiser
and Ruth Kaiser. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 20 at
2 pm in Riverside Cemetery, Sonora with Pastor Steven Hiltz
officiating. Family flowers only please. Donations in Vic’s
memory may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or Riverside Cemetery
Fund, Sonora. Special thanks to the nurses on the Surgery Unit at
Valley Regional Hospital and Drs. Gillis and McPherson for their care
of Victor and his family. Funeral arrangements are under the dignified
and compassionate care of G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St.
Mary’s Chapel, 34 Main St.
Sherbrooke.
