John Bradford Davis III
September 21, 1947 – February 7, 2024
It is with broken hearts but immense gratitude for his life that we announce the passing of John Bradford Davis III, of Atlantic, Nova Scotia on February 7, 2024. John died peacefully after a brief illness. John is predeceased by his mother Barbara Burns Davis and father John Bradford Davis Jr.
People who know John will remember him as a man who always had a twinkle in his eye, welcoming smile, story to tell, quick wit and great sense of humour, unforgettable laugh, open heart, and warm hug to share.
John is survived by his beloved wife Patricia Randel (Atlantic NS), daughter Heather (Wade, Halifax NS and mother Renée, Fredericton NB), son Brendan (Katie, Orange CA) and their children Ty, Ellie, and Kenzie, who gave their “Grumpy” so much joy and with whom he shared so many adventures. Also survived by siblings; Nancy Lasar (Steve), Martha D. Pattee (Jeffrey), Deborah Madson (Brian), Susan Flygare, Lincoln Davis (Cherie), Rebecca Davis, Sarah Davis and sister by choice, Donna Briggs, as well as Davis “cousins”, “mini cousins”, and “second cousins”. Sharing in the loss is John’s truly remarkable collection of extended family, friends, and colleagues.
John was devoted to his family, friends, many colleagues, and community. He was an environmentalist and lifelong learner with a passion for protecting the oceans and our coastal communities. He was a resource and inspiration to many. We invite those seeking to honour John to find a way to support one of the many projects or causes that he championed, or by contributing within your own community.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. A gathering to celebrate John’s life will be held at a later date.
