Obituary
Buchanan (nee Penney), Dianne Nora– 79, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2024 at Roseway Hospital. Born in Lower Clark’s Harbour on December 9, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Chesley Hanson and Goldie Gertrude (nee Atwood) Penney. Dianne loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren who brought her so much joy. She enjoyed making crafts, listening to music, reading, dances, going for drives with her husband to visit family and friends in Lower Clark’s Harbour, and taking care of the home and property that she loved in Sandy Point. In her younger years, Dianne was primarily a homemaker who later had such jobs as packaging Solomon Gundy at Skansen’s Fisheries Shelburne and cleaner at CFS Shelburne.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Harris Reginald; her children, Chett (Lisa) Buchanan, Shelburne; Clay (Marie) Buchanan, Alberta; and Bobbi-Ann (Wayne) Muise, Yarmouth; and grandchildren, Alex, Brianna, Bryan, Tammy, Mary, Jacinta, and Michael; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Parnell (Frank) Goodwin, Rosemary (Calvin) Kaiser, Tony (Debbie) Penney and Roxanne (Tommy) Hallett; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Dianne was predeceased by her stepfather, Owen (Offie) Symonds; siblings, Melba Goodwin, Leslie Penney, Gary Penney, Clayton Penney; niece, Angie Penney.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. Visitation will be held at Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne, on Friday November 15 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral Service to follow on Saturday November 16 at 11:00 am from Huskilson’s Funeral Chapel, Shelburne.
