Pam MacLean, age 80, resident of Port Hastings passed away Friday May 31st, 2024, at the Richmond Villa, St. Peters. She was predeceased by her husband George, her grandmother Mary Reynolds and her mother Emma Frotten. She leaves behind a legacy of love for her sons, Blenis in Alberta and Stephen in Port Hastings, with whom she lived for the past five years while courageously battling cancer. Her sisters Gwen (Sydney), Bonnie (Montreal), many cousins, and her supportive friends, who assisted her during her illness, will all hold her memory dear.
Pam, a native of Port Hawkesbury, inherited her passion for gardening from her grandmother. Her enthusiasm for baseball and bowling shone through as she relished playing these sports. She dedicated countless hours working with her husband on assorted tasks in the workshop, yet she always seized the opportunity to go fishing, either ice fishing in the winter or trout fishing in the summer. Pam loved ATVing and snowmobiling and was an active member of the West Richmond Riders Association. She was a former member of the Port Hastings Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary. In later years, Pam delighted in knitting, painting, and having tea with friends.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals whose unwavering support sustained Pam during her courageous battle against cancer.
Pam will be dearly missed and will be held in our hearts forever. As per her request, there will be no wake or funeral.
There will be a committal in the Saint David’s United Church Cemetery, Port Hastings, at a later date. Donations in Pam’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Port Hastings Fire Department.
