It Is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Meme, Juliette Keating of Boudreauville, Petit de Grat. She passed away peacefully on December 22nd 2023, aged 82, surrounded by her loved ones at St. Annes Centre, Arichat.
Juliette was a hardworking woman who worked many years at the fish plant in Petit de Grat, where she made many lifelong friendships, once the fish plant closed, she took on a job as a paraprofessional at the school and loved her job as Mme. Jules. She also graciously volunteered many hours and years at St Anne’s Centre.
She was also an avid knitter, she made sure the family’s feet were never cold with knitted woollen socks always in production, she made sure their bellies were always full, with the best homemade soups and stews on the go and baked the most delicious homemade bread to go with it and ensured there was a homemade baked goodie for dessert.
There was rarely a time when she didn’t have the biggest, warmest smile on her face; especially when she was playing bingo, shopping, dancing at the Grand Anse Legion or spending time with family.
Juliette is survived by her two loving sons, Kevin and Kenneth Keating (Leslie Touesnard); her cherished grandchildren, Hughena Touesnard (Elliot), Corey Keating, River Keating, Christopher MacMillan, her great-grandchildren, Cheyla and Eve Landry; her long-time special friend, Jackie Matthews, and her cousin, Velma Martell (Phyllis). She was predeceased by her husband Augustine (Gus) Keating, her mother, Ina
Harpell, her aunt Violet Martell (Wilfred), uncle Alvin Leblanc, cousin Catherine Martell; and her best friend Stella David.
There will be no visitation as per request and a private burial at a later date to lay her to rest at the Star of the Sea Cemetery with her grandfather, Willie Leblanc.
