It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fred Taylor from L’Ardoise. He passed away peacefully on December 31st 2023, aged 73, at his residence at the Richmond Villa.
Predeceased by his parents Jim & Alma (Bona) Taylor. Fred lived in L’Ardoise at the family homestead and later moved to the Port Hawkesbury Nursing home and then to the Richmond Villa in 2022. He worked at the Department of Transportation until his retirement in 2018.
Fred is survived by his brother Gerard Taylor and sister-in-law Frances; nieces Jackie, Michelle, Nancy, Jill and Chantelle. Fred always asked about “Les enfants ” (his great nieces and nephews) : Jasmine, Jessica, Colby, Reanna, Braeden, Brooklynn, Brielle, Emmie, Aveya, Neleah & Elin and always made sure there was a gift for each at Christmas and Easter.
He enjoyed watching hockey (especially the Montreal Canadiens), drives to the shore, watching Gerard out on the boat, Tim’s coffee, Pepsi, apples and lottery tickets. He also loved dogs and his cat at the Villa. Fred will be remembered for his kindness and easy going nature even during his illnesses.
Special thanks to his coworkers & friends for always visiting. A big thank you to the staff at the Strait Richmond, Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home and the Richmond Villa for their help and care over the years. He is finally reunited with his parents and fur companions Dimpsy and Blackie.
Cremation has taken place. No flowers by request, please. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on January 12, 2024 at 2:00pm from Holy Guardian Angels Parish: Rev. John Yake officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
