Redmond, Thelma Mae (Gordon) – 95, Wentworth, passed away May 28, 2024 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre. Thelma Mae Redmond was born in Folly Mountain December 2, 1928 to Ralph and Annie (Lynds) Gordon. She was the middle of nine children, the first daughter and the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by parents, Ralph and Annie, and her siblings, brothers, Earl, Gerald, Murray, Vernon, Elmer, Harold and Aubrey, and her only sister, Florence. She was also predeceased by her husband, George in 1977. She was no stranger to hard work, being the mother of seven: Jerry (deceased) and wife Wanda, George, Sharon (Merl), Caroline (Lester), Wayne, Reg (Kathy) and Geoff (Angela). She is also survived by many grandchildren as well as great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was very involved with the church in her community of West Wentworth, having been an elder and a member of the United Church Presbytery for many years. Her favourite pastime was quilting with which she was involved up to the very end. Many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and others were grateful recipients of these lovingly crafted gifts. She lived most of her adult life in Wentworth, moving to Bible Hill to a seniors complex where she made many new friends. She later made her home, first with son Reg and wife Kathy and lastly for the past five years with her son Wayne in Wallace. Visitation will be from 1-3 pm Friday, June 7 in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, Wentworth, followed immediately by graveside service at 3 pm in Wentworth United Church Cemetery. www.mmcfunerals.com
