Obituary
Keiver, Terrance Wayne “Terry” – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad at the age of 78 May 4th, 2024 with lots of family surrounding him as well as his phenomenal Debert Court family. Dad was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia in October, 2020. In 2022, Dad was lucky enough to be able to join the family of Paleo Lane at Debert Court. He became fast buddies with Wesley McCallum (his walking buddy) and wonderful ladies on his wing. Dad’s love of music started at a young age when his uncle Lewie and Garlie taught him to play guitar. Dad spent many years at the Department of Transportation, as well as Windsor Salt Mine, until he retired due to health reasons. Dad was a Christian. He found the Lord in July of 1989 when he and Mom started a music group, “New Life”, with his church family, where they played music in many communities. Dad became a member of AA in 1989, as well as provided sponsorship for many people for many years. Dad was all about family, he loved gatherings. Dad was a huge pet lover. “Zoey” made many trips with Dad across the border to Zephyrhills, FL, when he would snowbird for many years, again singing and playing guitar. Dad is survived by daughter, Terra “Osa” (Darren); Ash (Becky); grandson, Logan; his “daughter from another mother” (as Dad would always say), April Stevens; sister, Betty (Gerald) Langille; brothers, Derek (Martha); Wally “Crockett” (Theresa) Danson; special cousin, Ron (Micky) Connors; lots of nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews, who he always loved to see. Dad was predeceased by his wife, Lynn (MacKenzie); parents, Hazen and Verna (Rushton) Keiver; brothers, Gary, Kenny and Barry (in infancy); sisters, Diane O’Hara; Wanda; niece, Michelle O’Hara. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium. At Dad’s request, there will be a graveside service on June 1 at 11 am in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace. Following the burial there will be a celebration of life at the home of Terra and Darren, 47 Hwy. 307, Wentworth, with all of Dad’s favourites: family, food and most of all music. Whomever would like to bring an instrument, please feel free. Dad’s family would like to thank Debert Court staff and administration for the exceptional care, kindness and love you all showed to our Dad over the last 2 years. Donations can be made in Dad’s memory to Debert Court Recreation Fund.
