Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, John “Jack” Frederick Oderkirk, 69, Oxford, who passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side, on April 4th, 2024. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Charles and Norma (Hines) Oderkirk. Jack worked with CN Rail for over 25 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and tending to his horses, chickens, turkeys, and dogs, especially his little Nova. He loved spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. John loved hockey and was a true Canadiens fan. He is survived by his wife, the former Terry Tower; son, Troy (Tina Holland), Oxford; daughter, Kelly (Donald) Dixon, Birchwood; grandchildren, Krista, Jesse, Makayla, Aden, and Olivia; great-grandson, Jasper; brothers, Kenny, Mike and Charles; sisters, Barbara, Cindy, Carolynne, Maxene and Laura; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Carl, Donnie and David, sisters, Sandra, and Cheryl. Arrangements are in the care of MacDiarmid’s Funeral Homes & Crematorium.
