Vera Ann (Stroud) Wubbenhorst, 89 of Spring Street, New Glasgow, formerly of Pictou Landing passed away very peacefully at her home, on December 27, 2024. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Dan and Jessie (Forbes) MacDonald of Priestville.
Vera is survived by her son Owen Stroud, Sylvester; daughter Karla Wubbenhorst, Guelph, ON.; chosen daughter Darlene Jordan, Trenton; and grandson Shawn Stroud, New Glasgow. She is also survived by her former husband Karl Wubbenhorst, Calgary Alberta; brother Donald (Dee) and sister Nancy (David) Montgomery.
She was predeceased by her first husband Cecil “Pete” Stroud and friend and companion Tony Majcan.
Vera was employed as a receptionist for the late Dr. H.H. Felderhoff and later at the Hawker Siddley office in Trenton. Vera was very grateful for the outstanding care she received at the hands of her family doctor Dr. Mahsa Ghoreishi, the VON and Palliative Care Teams and CareForce.
There will be no visitation or funeral service at Vera’s request. A public graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 2 pm in the Castle Hill Cemetery, MacLellan’s Brook with Sam Graham officiating.
If desired, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
