Elizabeth’s Obituary
Ramsay, Elizabeth Jean – 96, of Berwick, NS passed away very quietly and peacefully just like she walked on this earth on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Albany, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Elsie (Howatt) MacLeod. Her love and devotion for her family was second to none. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be sadly missed by all. She enjoyed the news and would often scrapbook important articles. She was the family historian and developed a passion for genealogy facilitated by her prodigious memory. She helped many in their quest to accurately trace the lives of many islanders and related families.
Above all, Elizabeth lived a peaceful, humble, Christian life and always put the needs of others before herself.
Surviving are daughters, Susan Ramsay, Toronto; Linda (Bentley) Stoddart, Morden; sons, Ewen “Douglas” (Micheline) Ramsay, Kentville; Clare (Karen) Ramsay, Meadowvale; sister-in-law Fern MacLeod, Albany, PEI; brother Douglas (Sheila) MacLeod, Charlottetown; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Alfred; brothers David and Allister MacLeod; and grandson Danny.
A private family committal service will be held 11:30 am on Saturday, October 21 in The People’s Cemetery, Malpeque, PEI. A reception will follow at the Malpeque Community Hall. Donations in memory of may be made to the SPCA or to a charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448.
