Bernard “T-John”‘s Obituary
AMERO, Bernard Frank Jr. “T-John” – Age 85, of Weaver Settlement.
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Bernard’s passing on Friday, April 19, 2024 in Tideview Terrace, Digby, with his two granddaughters by his side.
Throughout his life, Bernard worked in various places: from logging in the woods with his father onto Lewis Sawmill for many years. Then he started a journey of carpentry with Richard Nesbitt until he retired. During all of this, he and his wife enjoyed raising and selling Shih Tzus for 18 years.
His greatest pass time was spending many hours in his workshop, making anything from picture frames to furniture and cupboards. Come Friday nights, you would always find him and his wife at the bowling alley. They also loved travelling to bluegrass festivals with friends. He was always up for a family BBQ where there was lots of food and especially desserts. His saying was “Life’s uncertain. Eat sweets first.”
Bernard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Violet; grandchildren, Tanya (Stacey), Amanda (Troy); great-granchildren, Cheyenne, Michaela, Tori, Ethan, Jayden; great great-grandchildren, Asher, Avery, Daxton, Kade; many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by many siblings; Keith (Roseleta), Nevins (Gladys), Howard (Debbie), Vickie, Tommy (Vanessa), Ernie, Richard, Toby, Linda, Thelma (John), Heather.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bernard Sr. and Sadie (Gavel) Amero; son, Michael; sisters, Shirley, Donna; brothers, Gary, Johnny.
A public visitation will be held in Southville Church of Christ, Southville, on Tuesday, April 23rd from 1 to 3 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service and then burial in Southville Cemetery.
We want to send a special thank you to Tideview Terrace for taking great care of him over the last two years and always going above and beyond.
Donations in Bernard’s memory may be made to Tideview Terrace.
