It is with great sadness we, the family of Sharon Rose Massey, 75, of Blockhouse, formally of Lower Rose Bay, announce her passing on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater.
Born in Lunenburg on July 6, 1949 she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Gladys (Rafuse) Slauenwhite.
Earlier in her life she worked at National Sea, Lunenburg. Sharon was an avid gardener, loved cooking and baking, and spending time with her family and friends. Sharon was Life Member and on the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 where she enjoyed volunteering with her dear friends for many years. Sharon loved playing cards, especially crib. Most importantly, Sharon was the loving wife of her predeceased husband and best friend, Frank Massey.
Sharon is survived by children, Donna Massey, Bridgewater, Patricia Childs, Bridgewater, Timothy (Tracy) Massey, Kingsburg, Jennifer (Jacob) Mason, Blockhouse; sister, Juanita Conrad; brothers, Kevin (Donna) Slauenwhite, Carmen (Ann) Slauenwhite, Brian (Doreen) Slauenwhite, Vincent (Nancy) Slauenwhite; grandchildren, Ashley, Felicia, Nicholas, Brandon and great-grandchildren, Owen, Lucas and Logan.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, Lewis, Warren, Malcolm, Gary, Myles, Wayne and infant brother, Lewis.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy #3, Lunenburg where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21 at 11:00 am. Rev. Willis Ott officiating. Interment in Lower LaHave Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
