It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Dawson Keizer, 72, of First South, announces his passing on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at home.
Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of Pauline Hazel (Veinotte) Keizer, and the late Bernard Keizer.
In his earlier years, Richard was a cook for the Bluenose Lodge, in Lunenburg. He then went to work for National Sea, from where he retired. He loved antiquing, yard sales, and the friendships he made with the many people that would stop by his house to find their own unique treasures.
Richard is survived by his mother, Pauline; brothers, Robert, Brian (Dawn), Centre; nephews, Ryan (Lauren) Keizer, Hammonds Plains, Mark (Kassy) Keizer, Lunenburg; as well as his close friend, Barry Corkum.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Highway 3, Lunenburg, and from where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 9, 2024, at 1:00pm. Reverend Alvin Westgate officiating. Interment to follow at Sunny Valley Cemetery, Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Sunny Valley Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
