Born in Blue Rocks, January 16, 1944, Harriette was the baby of her family and often told stories of her youth on the Herring rock. Her father had a soft spot for Harriette and he would often cater to her fussiness, slipping her change when she did not like dinner she would go buy a treat instead. In her teenage years, she worked at various retail stores in Blue Rocks and Lunenburg. At just seventeen, she found herself falling deeply in love with a handsome young man named Claude, marrying a few years later. Together, they raised their sons, Claude and Dana. Her husband and boys were her pride and joy. She devoted her love and support to them.
Throughout the years Harriette loved a great dance or a good card game with her close friends, Tom, Sarah, Wallace and Sandra. She also developed a passion for crafting and took great joy in teaching herself to sew, knit and crochet. Harriette loved warm weather and sunshine, often walking her beloved German Shepherd, Sheeba. After Claude retired from sea, they enjoyed long, joyous golden years together, creating many memories and cherishing the time they had with family and friends.

She had a passion for fashion and always took pride in her appearance, wearing nice clothing and shoes and was never without her jewelry. As an opportunity opened, she joined the gals at Famous Town Ladies Shop in Lunenburg. She never missed a day, treasured the women she worked with and remembered her time there fondly.

In recent years, Harriette resided at Hillside Pines Nursing Home, and her loving husband Claude faithfully visited her nearly every day, a testament to the deep bond they shared throughout their 61 years of marriage.
