It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Patrick Macdonald Sinclair, 59, of Conquerall Bank, announce his passing on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.
Patrick was born on October 6, 1964 in Edmonton, Alberta; he was lovingly welcomed into the Sinclair family by parents Donald and Iris and sisters Catriona and Mairin.
Patrick met the love of his life, Jeffery, in 1996. They spent 28 years together, living life to the fullest. They married on October 5, 2013 in New Westminster, BC. They enjoyed many adventures together, traveling from Mexico to the Caribbean, United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
Travel was a way of life for Patrick; he spent 27 years working as a flight attendant, his dream job which he thoroughly enjoyed. As a small boy he was fascinated by aircraft, hours were spent building airports and flying imaginary planes.
Patrick was an exceptional cook; his culinary skills enhanced many meals and charmed his guests. He was also a passionate gardener, delighting in the fragrance of a variety of flowering plants.
In his last years, Patrick embarked on a new career as a teacher’s aide. In letters of gratitude, his colleagues recognized his dedication. He loved working with children and developed deep and lasting relationships with each of them, having made a beneficial impact in their lives.
Patrick is survived by his husband, Jeffery Gibson; sisters, Catriona Sinclair (Martyn Wade), London, UK, Mairin McManus, West Vancouver; father-in- law, Austin Stanley Gibson (Margo Gibson), Vancouver Island; mother-in-law Marlene Rockandel, Nova Scotia; relative-in-law Patty Hunter, Vancouver; brother-in-law, David Gibson (Catherine Dunne), Calgary; sister-in-law, Desiree Larose (Bill Larose), Vancouver Island, Carrie Gibson (Joseph Bashorun), Dubai, UAE; nephews, Blake James McManus, Daniel Wade (Ruth Wade), Joseph Wade, Andrew John McManus, Justin Murray, William Larose, Matthew Larose, Sterling Larose, Bennett Gibson-Dunne, Alexander Gibson-Dunne; grand-niece, Chloe Wade and grand-nephew, Jacob Wade and many cousins in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Vancouver.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy. #3, Lunenburg from where a service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the I.W.K Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
