1972-2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Nancy
Lynn Benjamin, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, who left
us far too soon at the age of 52. Nancy passed away on Friday,
November 8, 2024, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in
Kentville, she was a daughter of Patricia (Mahar) MacPherson and the
late Richard Benjamin.
Nancy lived her life with kindness, generosity, and a vibrant
spirit that touched everyone she encountered. She will be remembered
for her beautiful smile and her laugh, which could light up any room.
She was a great cook, an animal lover, and a kind, gentle soul that
was a friend to everyone she met. Though her time with us was far too
short, the impact of her love and presence will endure. She will be
dearly missed.
Nancy is survived by her partner and best friend, Gary Allen;
son, Josh Benjamin; daughter, Erica Rand; bonus daughters, Kristen
Allen (Luke) and Alicia Allen (Lindsay); siblings, Brenda Moore,
Heather Turner, Richard MacPherson and Jessica “Rose”
MacPherson (Ryan MacEachern); seven beautiful grandchildren: Aurora,
Paisley, Sadie, Michael, Ollie, Jack and Lily; as well as numerous
aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and
friends.
In addition to her father, she was predeceased by her
paternal grandparents, Donald and Alice (Barkhouse) Benjamin of
Kentville, and maternal grandparents, Elmer Mahar and Margaret Coyle
of Charlottetown, PE.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by
request. A celebration to honour Nancy’s life will be held
at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley
Regional Hospital Foundation or the S.P.C.A. The family would like to
send special thanks to the Doctors and Nurses at Valley Regional
Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness in Nancy’s
final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family
