Howard Stanley Sherman
1966-2024
It is with great
sadness the family of Howard Stanley Sherman, of Aylesford Lake
announce his untimely passing at the QEII-Infirmary, in Halifax, on
Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the age of 58. Born in Wolfville, he was
the son of the late Leao and Doreene (Brown) Sherman.
Prior to retirement,
Howard worked as an IT Professional, Business Intelligence Specialist,
and held various director positions. Throughout his career, Howard
spent the majority of his working life with MT&T and
xwave.
Over the years he
developed many friendships playing hockey and baseball. In his later
years he devoted most of his time to playing golf with his son,
Darian, and other friends and family. More recently he developed a
passion for pickleball and aimed to introduce the game to as many
people as possible.
When home he enjoyed
puttering around the property and kept the yard immaculate with
beautiful plants and gardens. You could often find him next door
socializing with neighbors sharing lots of stories. Howard was an
animal lover and always had pets to keep him company around the house.
He was always showing pictures of both Peeta and Betty to whoever
would entertain him. When not working on the property Howard enjoyed
listening to rock and country music, spending time on his boat,
driving around in his truck, spending quality time with those he
loved, and was always up for a good card game.
What was most
important to Howard was family. He was the glue that held our group
together, he enjoyed hosting get togethers to connect and never missed
an opportunity to poke fun and tease those he loved. He was an
exceptional cook and baker. He was always in the kitchen
preparing delicious meals for everyone to enjoy. Howard also loved to
help others and shared his love through acts of service. Whether it
was being a listening ear and offering sound advice, researching
different products to find the best option, or shopping for someone.
Above all else he enjoyed offering his time and
guidance.
Most importantly,
Howard was an exceptional loving husband to his high school sweetheart
and wife Michele (Williams) and loved being Darian’s
dad. Howard was so proud of him and all his
accomplishments.
In addition to his
wife, Michele and son, Darian, Howard is survived by his brother, Gary
Sherman and sister-in-law Grace Lynk; mother-in-law, Loretta Williams;
sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tina and John Mosher; nieces and
nephews, Andrea Sherman, Greg Sherman, Luke MacBride, Megan MacBride,
Taylor Mosher and Alex Mosher; great niece, Cecelia “Cece”
Sherman; and great-nephews, Wesley Harvey and Malcolm
Sherman.
He was predeceased by
his parents; father-in-law, Philip Williams; and nephew, Ben
Sherman.
Cremation has taken
