White, Henry “Hank” Charles – 71 of Upper Kennetcook, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, with family by his side, in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Gormanville NS on December 5, 1953, Henry was 1 of 9 children to the late Leonard and Gladys (Harvey) White.
Henry worked in the woods most of his life, spending the better part with Helfer Forest Products. He enjoyed being outdoors; working, mowing his lawn, playing washer toss with family and friends, or just tinkering around. Henry especially enjoyed hunting with his late brother Bunk. They seemed to do everything together! You may say they were “two peas in a pod”.
Henry loved his family dearly and cherished the time they spent together. Those who knew him well, knew he liked to pull the wool over their eyes, then get the smirk that was the tell tale to his mischief. We will miss that goofy grin and smile.
Henry is survived by his common-law wife Janie (Beach); stepdaughters Elizabeth “Libbie”, Upper Kennetcook, Pam (Mark) Mason, Upper Stewiacke; granddaughters Josie and Monica; sisters Frances (Clyde) Beach and Ellen (Allen) Beach.
Besides his parents, Henry is predeceased by brothers Glenwood in infancy, Gordon and Bunk, sisters Avonbell in infancy, Alice and Leona.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Colchester East Hants Health Centre staff for their compassion and care for Henry; VON nurses for their homecare as well as Dr. Youseffi for the continued care and many phone calls.
Cremation has taken place, respecting Henry’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Henry can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charily on ones’ choosing.
