Cheryl Lee Fraser (Bulger)
November 26, 1966 – December 20, 2024
Cheryl Lee Fraser (Bulger), 58, of Grand Lake, passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2024 in Halifax, Nova Scotia after a courageous battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born on November 26th, 1966 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Her family moved to Lower Sackville when she was young, then to Fairview where she graduated Halifax West High School. She spent many childhood summers at Amherst Shore, where she spent time playing on the beach and running through the fields with her cottage family. In adulthood, she brought her own family and friends to the cottage so they could share the joy and create their own lasting memories by the shore.
Cheryl held many jobs over the years, and had a special connection to her work family at RIM, where she met some of her closest friends. Metro Green Logistics was her most recent job; she loved the work and loved the Temu spending money that it gave her even more!
Cheryl enjoyed travelling, with some of her favourite trips being to Ecuador to visit her sister Darlene and to Negril, Jamaica with her bestie, Nancy.
Cheryl’s favourite holiday was 4:20, to which she celebrated daily on her back deck in “Sheldon’s Chair.” She adored her sweet family dogs over the years: Curly; Jasper; her “smoke buddy” Shadow; and her newest baby, Copper.
Cheryl was deeply adored by all who knew her, and was surrounded by the support and affection of her loved ones throughout her illness.
Cheryl is survived by her husband of 32 years, Blair, who never failed to bring his “Woman” a rose (in the form of a coffee) on his way home each day; her two children of whom she beamed with pride, Jessica (Nathan) and Ryan (Kayla); her four beloved grandsons, Tristan, Seth, Logan, Oliver and her precious granddaughter, Blair. Cheryl is also survived by her siblings, Nancy (Greg) Roach, Darlene Howell, and Kevin Bulger; brother-in-law, Sean Keels; several nieces and nephews; close family friends, and coworkers.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Gerald Bulger and Dorothy (Murray); her sister, Karen (Keels) and brother Terry.
Cheryl made it clear that she and her family express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Maryse Hélène Lalonde for going above and beyond in advocating for Cheryl’s care. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Hospice Halifax for their compassion and support. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Halifax in recognition of the exceptional care and dignity provided to Cheryl, her family and the community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Grand Lake.
