Beverly Ann Acker
October 28, 1951 – November 7, 2024

ACKER, Beverly Ann – age 73, of Dartmouth, passed away at Dartmouth General Hospital on November 7, 2024. Born in East York, Ontario on October 28, 1951. She was the daughter of John “Jack” and Helen “Velma” (McCallum) Fletcher.
Beverly was number 5 of 11 children. She lived in the house her father built in Agincourt, ON. At age 12, she moved to West Scarborough with her family – where she met Bill at age 15. Not long after, they got married and had their 2 sons, Billy and Brian. She raised her boys living in Scarborough and then Newmarket before moving to Sutton where they stayed for about 10years. Beverly was always busy working in various factories. Bev loved to go to Bingo – she often won or would tell the stories of needing one more number, B4! She was a generous woman. She loved cooking to feed the many men who worked on Brian’s race car at “the farm” in Sutton. Bev was an enthusiastic and proud mom when it came to Brian’s racing. Beverly’s love for her family was deep and grew exponentially when her grandchildren came along. She cherished spending time with John and Emily; watching them play hockey and watching John at the racetrack – Bev was so proud of them and their accomplishments. Beverly was a passionate, feisty spirited, hard-working woman. She was a fighter right until the end.
Beverly was survived by her husband William “Bill” Acker; son Brian Acker (Amber Beuree); grandchildren John and Emily Acker; sisters Donna (Paul) Glover, Marilyn Hunter (Grant Hancock), Janice Fletcher, Maureen Fletcher & Karen (John) Kozmik; brother Glenn Fletcher. Beverly had 19 nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews, 3 great, great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Beverly loved her family endlessly.
Besides her parents, Beverly was predeceased by her son William “Billy” Acker; sister Valerie (Mike) Pendergast, brothers John (Toni) Fletcher, Byron (Jerri) Fletcher, and Richard Fletcher (Gail Steele).
Cremation has taken place under the care of Dartmouth Funeral Home Ltd. There will be a Celebration of Life on November 23, 2024, at Rawdon District Fire Hall, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
