DEVEAU, Wayne Edward, Arichat
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Edward Deveau, 72 years old of Arichat which occurred at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish on December 16th, 2023. Born September 13th, 1951 in Halifax he was the son of the late Joseph Edward and Sarah Lucienne (Roach) Deveau.
In the later years when Wayne worked at Premium and Petit de Grat Packers, EDGAR took him under his wing and looked after his well-being. Wayne enjoyed his walks with HUBERT BULLEN, and his morning coffee with the crew at Jeantie’s. We are forever grateful to the people for their kindness and the many rides given to Wayne to and from the Co-op, etc.
He was a very dedicated volunteer at Our Lady of Assumption Church and Parish Hall in Arichat.
He is survived by his brother Remi (Darlene), Lower South River, and sister Thelma Hylton, Orangeville, ON.
Besides his parents, Wayne was predeceased by his brothers, Capt. Raymond Deveau, Clarence Deveau, and a brother Cleary in infancy; sister, Giselle Embree.
There will be no visitation per request.
Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Wayne will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church in Arichat on Saturday, January 6th, 2024 at 11 am, with Father John DeCoste officiating. The burial will be held at a later date.
A reception will be held following the mass in our Lady of Assumption Parish Hall in Arichat,
Memorial donations can be made to the Isle Madame Food Bank.
