MCPHEE, Robert Joseph “Bobby”, 73 of Louisdale
It Is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Joseph “Bobby” McPhee of Louisdale that occurred at Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on June 17, 2024.
Born in Antigonish on September 1, 1950, he was the son of the late Alphonse Joseph and Mary Celina (Marchand) McPhee.
Bobby loved the outdoors, you’d find him outside hunting, fishing and watching the birds. He loved spending time with his wife, his 2 children, his 3 grandchildren, his family and friends. He enjoyed being with his friends playing poker on Thursday nights and going to his morning coffee club with the boys. Bobby was a good labour worker where he was part of the labour union and was a shop steward. He knew who to live life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment of life. Family was everything to him, he always was happy, big hearted kind of man who also loved his food. He lit up every room he walked into.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife Carol Ann; daughter Juanita (Charles) MacKay; son Sheldon (Wanda), all of Louisdale; grandchildren Mallory, Madison and Brady MacPhee; step grandchildren Alex and Brooke Hearn; brothers George (Noreen), Roy (Wanda), both of Louisdale; sister Geneva Bates, Antigonish; Brother-in-law Blair (Cathy) Samson, Louisdale; Sister-in-law Judy (John) MacNeil, Iona.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Amelia McPhee; sister-in-law Eileen (Cecil) Slater; brother-in-law Johnnie (Julie-Anne) Sampson.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation per request. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, June 24th in St. Louis Parish, Louisdale at 11am with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. A reception to follow the mass at St. Louis Parish Hall, Louisdale.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Louis Parish Columbarium.
