Samson, Mary Muriel, Petit de Grat
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Muriel Samson, of Petit de Grat which occurred at the Strait Richmond Hospital in Evanston on October 1st, 2023.
Born September 20, 1941, in West Arichat, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Oderick and Margaret Ann (Boudreau) Mury.
She was a dedicated member of the Isle Madame New Horizon’s Senior Citizen’s Club, LaFame Society, St. Joseph’s C.W.L., and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150 in Arichat.
Muriel is survived by her daughter Shelley Samson (Robert Boucher), Petit de Grat; grandson Hunter Nazaire Samson-Boucher, Calgary, Alberta; brothers Antoine (Marion) Mury West Arichat, and Vernie Mury, Halifax; sisters Adrienne (George) McCoombs, Burlington, Ontario, and Myrtle (Tommy) Babin, West Arichat.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ovide; son baby Troy Samson; brothers George Mury, Michel Mury, and Adolphe Mury; sister Viola Bonin; brother-in-law Raymond Bonin; sister-in-law Magdeline Mury.
Visitation will be held in C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd in Arichat on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 6 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Muriel will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Petit de Grat on Saturday, October 14th, at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. John DeCoste. Interment to follow in Acadiaville Columbarium in West Arichat.
A reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Arichat., following the Interment.
Memorial donations can be made to the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Society.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
