LAVANDIER, Leonard Joseph -74, West Arichat
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Joseph Lavandier which occurred on
March 31, 2024 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish with his loving family by his side. Born in
Arichat, he was the son of the late Amedée Wilfred and Clara (Babin) Lavandier
Although Leonard had no children of his own, he was loved and adored by his many nieces and nephews. He was always so happy to see them when they dropped in. He would want to know everything they were doing or what they were involved in. Leonard had many friends who would drop in daily to check in on him, chat and drink coffee. He also had the greatest sense of humour and loved telling jokes and stories about the past.
Leonard is survived by his loving companion Evangeline Dorey, West Arichat; brothers B.J. (Viola),
Bridgewater, Albert (Betty), West Arichat; sisters Claire Samson, Petit de Grat, Irene (Dave) Terrio, Port
Colborne; sister-in-law Delores Lavandier.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Wilfred and brother-in-law Eugene Samson.
Visitation will take place on Friday from 6-9 pm at C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home in Arichat. Funeral mass
will take place on Saturday morning at Our Lady of Assumption Church, Arichat at 11am with Rev. John
DeCoste officiating. Burial to follow in Acadiaville Columbarium, West Arichat. Memorial donations can
be made to St. Anne’s Centre in Arichat.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
