JOHNSON, Eric Robert – Chapel Island
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eric Robert Johnson of Chapel Island which occurred at Chapel Island on April 20, 2024. Born September 14, 1995, in Sydney, he was the son of Robert Andrews (Shelor), of St. John’s, and Kristal Johnson, of Chapel Island.
Eric had many loves. He was a sports fan who spent many years in his youth playing minor hockey with the Strait Richmond Pirates. He loved music, listening to anything from country to rap. He liked to draw and was an amateur tattoo artist. He just loved being outdoors. Not one to sit inside in front of a screen, he would often be outside working on an engine or building something. He was studying to be a mechanic and spent of lot of his time fixing bikes, cars, and trucks, often for friends and family and often without charging them. He was very generous this way. He had plans to build his own garage and was often referred to as Uncle Fixit. He had a wonderful sense of humor that would put smiles on others. His biggest love of all was his family. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to help a family member in need. He called his mom his best friend and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by his children.
Besides his parents, Eric is survived by his daughters Nevaeh Lelacheur, Louisdale, Mary Rachael Johnson, Amoura Rose Johnson both of Arichat, and stepdaughter Precious Stone, Arichat; sons Frederick James Johnson, Arichat, and step son Quayde Lelacher, Louisdale; brother Evan Michael Johnson, Chapel Island; sisters Candace Pierro (Brent), Wagmatcook, Hope Sarah Johnson, and Faith Bella Johnson, both of Chapel Island.
He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and many cousins whom he was very close to.
Eric was predeceased by maternal grandparents Charles Arthur and Mary (Isaac) Johnson, and paternal grandparents John Andrews and Teresa Stephens.
Visitation will be held at the Kateri Tekawitha Chapel in Chapel Island on Tuesday, April 30th at 2 pm until May 2nd at 10:15 am.
Funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 2nd at 11 am in St. Peters Catholic Church, St Peters, with Rev. Duncan MacIsaac officiating.
Burial will take place at a later date.
A Salite will be held at the Potlotek Community Centre in Potlotek following the mass.
