Stan was born in Halifax in 1936 to Emma
and Flemming Miller. He later married Betty and together they raised
their three boys, Stanley, Kelly & Peter.
Stan spent his career with the telephone
company working in Chilliwack, Terrace, Port Hardy & Campbell
River. He was, “Blessed” with some amazing friendships and
enjoyed several great adventures in and out of work. Stan took early
retirement at 50 after battling with cancer and set sail on their
30’ sloop, Mustardseed down the west coast through Panama
and back to Nova Scotia.
This sailing adventure with Betty lasted
over the next 17 years and took them across the Atlantic and
throughout parts of Europe. After returning from their travels Gramma
Granpa Sailboat moved ashore in Sidney.
Stan was pre-deceased by his wife of
over 50 years Betty in 2008.
Stan leaves behind 3 sons 2 daughters in
law 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren all will miss
him.
A memorial for Stan will be held at the
hall in Summergate Village, 2045 Summergate Blvd. Sidney, BC. On
August
23 from 1pm to 4 pm.
