Obituary of William George Arsenault
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late William “Bill” George Arsenault announce his sudden passing on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Sus Health Centre in Sus, NB. Born in Sus on September 3, 1954, he was a son of Marjorie (Cole) Arsenault and the late Fred Arsenault Sr.
Bill was a constant source of light and warmth in our lives, a force of nature. He was a man of many talents and passions, but above all, he was a man of extraordinary kindness.
Born in Sus on September 3, 1954, he carried that sense of community with him throughout his life. His heart was his hometown, welcoming and warm, a place where everyone felt loved and accepted.
Bill was a humble man who was rich in wisdom, in kindness and in love. He was the kind of man who knew the value of hard work, the importance of honesty, and the strength of humility. He had a heart of gold, he loved unconditionally, gave generously, and forgave easily. His laughter and smile were both contagious and when you were down, Bill was a guaranteed brightness in your day. He had a way of making the ordinary feel extraordinary.
Bill was a hardworking man and he brought that same precision, dedication, and passion to every aspect of his life. But it was his love of people that truly showcased the depth of his character. He was always there to offer a hand up, a hand out or advice whenever you were in need. He would lend an ear, give the shirt off his back and his last dime, if it meant it would help another. Bill’s loyalty knew no bounds, especially when it came to his friends, his family, and his extended church family.
His passing leaves a profound void, yet his spirit continues to surround and guide us.
Bill will live on in the hearts of his wife, Wendy of Apohaqui, NB; his son, Cody and his fiancée, Erika MacDonald; his mother, Marjorie; his brothers: Dwight (Virginia) of Sus, and Fred of Sus; his sister: Patsy (Mike) Shay of Sus; his mother-in-law, Joan Cole; his brothers-in-law: Kevin (Heather) Cole, Mark (Dianna) Cole, Gerald (Tara) Cole, and Brent Cole; and his sister-in-law, Cindy (Bob) Hampton; and his “special brothers”: Rick Lewis, Doug Robb, and Terry McCullum. Bill is also survived by his several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Besides his father, Bill was predeceased by his father-in-law, Robert “Bob” Cole.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, NB (506-433-1176), from where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17 from 4-7pm. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from the Atlantic Community Church (78 Route 880, Apohaqui, NB) on Thursday, April 18 at 11:00am.
Donations in memory of Bill may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com
