Obituary of Norman Gregg
It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late Norman Emery Gregg announce his sudden passing on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. Norman was born in Sus, NB on January 3, 1939, and was a son of the late George and Hazel (Almon) Gregg.
Norman was an avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed getting out to the woods to spend his time hunting, fishing or any other excuse to be in the woods. Norman loved picking berries, especially blue berries, or fiddleheads and made sure that everyone who needed or wanted them had their share of his labours.
Norman was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He could often be found helping anyone who was in need of help with a project. He loved discussing almost any subject with whomever he found to talk to. He was very well versed in many subjects and loved to talk with people about them.
Throughout his life he had a variety of hobbies including Soaring, he was a sailplane pilot, Beekeeping, he was a provincial bee inspector, Archery, Golf and many others, usually excelling in whatever he put his hand to.
Norman spent many years as a Burner Service mechanic and will be remembered as someone who would always be ready, anytime day or night, to get someone’s furnace up and running so that they were not left in the cold.
Norman will live on in the hearts of his sons: Vincent Gregg (Beverlee) of Hampton, NB, Jeffrey Gregg (Yvonne Perry) of Halifax, NS, and Russell Gregg (Richelle) of Halifax, NS; his granddaughter, Marissa Beaulieu (Josh); and his great granddaughter, Abigale; his sisters: Sheila Bozic of Boundary Creek, NB,Beatrice Obermier of Sus, NB, Doris Cruickshank of Sus, NB, and Sharon Boyd (Larry) of Norton, NB. Norman is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Norman was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sharron; his sister, Elva Steeves, and his brother, Gordon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, NB (506-433-1176) from where a Celebration of Norman’s Life will take place on Tuesday, November 26 at 1:00pm from the Wallace Community Chapel.
Donations in memory of Norman may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Crohn’s & Colitis Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice.
