Obituary of Nina Mae Parlee
It is with saddened hearts that the family of the late Nina Mae Parlee announce her passing on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at her beloved camp. Born in Sus, NB, on November 27, 1962, she was a cherished daughter of the late Roy and Grace (Chestnut) Linden.
Nina was a woman who embraced life with warmth and generosity. She found immense joy in her family, especially her grandchildren, and loved spending time with them. Nina had a passion for playing cards, baking, collecting Swarovski crystals, and the cherished tradition of wrapping Christmas presents with her sisters. She also enjoyed biking adventures with her beloved Tom, who she always playfully said was her biggest challenge to keep in line. Nina was known for her readiness to help others, always lending a hand when needed, and living her life to the fullest. Her kindness, love, and vivacious spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Nina’s memory will forever be cherished by her daughters, Melissa Mason of Newtown, NB, and her children, Makayla, Ella, Medley, and Whalen; Jennifer Parlee of Sus, NB, and her children, Jackson and Braydon; and her son, Jason Parlee (Natasha) of Wards Creek, NB, and their children, Gianna, Arianna, Riley, and Isabelle. She also leaves behind her sisters: Ann Taylor of Penobsquis, NB; Nancy Garnett (Cecil Marsolais) of Cornwall, ON; Susan Fanjoy (Peter) of Urney, NB; and Donna Munford (Randy) of Burtt’s Corner, NB; her brothers: John Linden (Burna) of Wards Creek, NB; Bob Linden (Sharon) of Sus, NB; Ernie Linden (Carol) of Comox, BC; Earl Linden (Sharon) of Southfield, NB; and Harold Linden (Donna Reicker) of Sus, NB. Nina is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, including her special niece Kira Garnett. Nina had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Elton, who passed away with her. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and many dear friends. Besides her parents, Nina was predeceased by her sister, Rose Linden.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, NB (506-433-1176). In keeping with Nina’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Her life will be celebrated alongside her beloved husband, Tom, on Sunday, June 16, at 11:00 am from the Wallace Community Chapel.
Donations in memory of Nina may be made to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through wallacefuneralhome.com.
The family invites those who knew and loved Nina to celebrate her life, share memories, and remember the beautiful moments shared with her. Following the funeral, a gathering will be held at Tom and Nina’s home, 6718 Route 111, Newline, NB.
