John Lawrence Surette
1965-2024
The unexpected passing of John Lawrence Surette, formerly of
Blacks Harbour NB occurred at Saint John NB on September 14, 2024.
Born at Blacks Harbour NB on October 19, 1965, he was a son of the
late Joseph and Vivian (Justason) Surette.
A loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to many,
he is survived by his daughters: Tiffany (Troy) Henriksen of Pennfield
NB and Natasha (Adam) Guthrie of Utopia NB; three grandchildren:
Kaylee, Addison and Kaci; his brother, Mark (Tammy) Surette of Utopia
NB as well as several cousins and relatives. He was predeceased by his
parents Joe and Vivian.
John was
born and raised in the Blacks Harbour area. In his earlier years, John
worked for Connor’s Brothers as well as other local
companies where he was known as a hard worker. For anyone who knew
him, John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed working in the outdoors,
whether it be cutting wood, rock weeding, or clamming. John was known
to be in control of his own destiny. He had an automotive talent and
enjoyed working on cars. He loved music and enjoyed playing guitar.
John will be remembered as a kind and compassionate soul who cared for
others and always put others before himself. He will be sadly missed
by his family, many friends, and as well as those in his Saint John
community.
Arrangements in the care of the St.
George Funeral Home (506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at the
Pennfield Rural Cemetery at a time to be announced. In
John’s memory donations to Romero House or to the Village of
Hope would be appreciated by the family.
