Joel Robert Cook
1979-2024
It is with great sadness the family of Joel Robert Cook
announce his unexpected passing on May 25, 2024. Born on June 26,
1979, Joel was the youngest son of Juliet Kinghorne and Gerald
Cook.
In addition to his parents, Joel is survived by his
stepfather Eugene Kinghorne, stepmother Holly Sawler, brothers Luke
Cook (Amy), Matthew Cook (Amber), stepsister Jacquline Rayner (Jamie),
stepbrother Greg Kinghorne (Ashley), nieces Kayla, Eden, Ella, Molly,
Olivia and Myeligh, one nephew Noah, four great nieces and his special
friend, Melanie Cooke. Joel loved his family, his mom most of
all.
Although Joel grew up in St. George he lived the last 26
years on Grand Manan. He could often be found playing his guitar and
talking about music to anyone who would listen. Joel enjoyed
documentaries and would chat knowledgeably about current events. He
was kind and comical with a dry, sarcastic wit. He had a special place
in his heart for seniors.
Joel’s death leaves a void in our lives and an ache
in our hearts that will last until we meet again.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. There will be no
visitation. A private family funeral will be held at a later date. In
Joel’s memory, donations to a charity of the
donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
“When I tell you about my past
It’s not so you will feel sorry for me
It’s because I want you to understand
Why I am
Who I am”
