Harold ” Clyde” Hooper Jr.
1959-2024
Surrounded by his loving family, the passing of Harold
“Clyde” Hooper Jr. of Utopia New Brunswick occurred June 2,
2024, at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John, NB. Born at
Ajax Ontario, on February 7, 1959, he was a son of the late Harold Sr.
and Carol (Westecott) Hooper.
A loving brother, Clyde is survived by his siblings: Barbara
Gray, of Prince George, BC, David (Isla) Hooper, of Ottawa ON, Rosely
(Mark) Davey, of Saint John NB, Mary (Scott) MacDonald of Pictou NS,
Terry (Louise) Hooper of Grand Bay NB, Melissa (Lisa) Hooper-Fallon,
of Saint John NB, sister in law Barbara Hooper of Saint John NB, as
well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In
addition to his parents, Clyde was predeceased by brother Joey, nephew
Stephen, and great niece Ivy.
A long-time resident of Utopia, Clyde frequented the town of
St. George, with his friendly nature, and helping way. He loved
fishing, mowing grass, and listening to the king Elvis. He was a great
friend to many and a helper to many in the community. He will be sadly
missed by his family and all that knew him. His friendly hitchhiking,
and giant grin was a common site in town, and will be missed by
many.
The family would like to thank Brenda Legacy, and Richard,
Wayne and Mike, for their kind helping way to ensure Clyde was able to
live at home, as well as a thank you to the Home Care
workers.
Arrangements are in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(506-755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Visitation will be
held from the St. George Funeral Home Chapel, on Wednesday, June 5,
2024, from 11- 1:30 pm. The funeral service will follow the visitation
on Wednesday, June 5,2024 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Gordon Cooke
officiating. Interment will take place at the St. George Rural
Cemetery following the service. In Clyde’s memory, in lieu
of flowers donations to Bobby’s Hospice or the Canadian
Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
