Florence Lillian Richard
1939-2024
The passing of Florence Lillian (Thompson) Richard, wife of
the late Moise G. Richard of Blacks Harbour NB occurred at the
Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on November 20, 2024. Born
in Blacks Harbour NB on April 14, 1939, she was daughter of the late
H. Levi and Florence (Brian) Richard.
A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister,
Florence is survived by two sons: Timmy Richard (Lori) of St. Stephen
NB and David Richard (Mary Lou) of Blacks Harbour NB; two daughters:
Marlene (Peter) Moffatt and Darlene McVicar (Wade Johnson)
both of Blacks Harbour NB; several grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; brothers: James Thompson and Arnold Thompson both
of Blacks Harbour NB and Henry Thompson of Ontario; sisters: Ida
Deveau, Gladys Scott and Marion (Leo) Richard all of Blacks Harbour
NB; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was
predeceased by grandchildren: Jonathan Munn, Tara Wilkinson and Tasha
Wilkinson; and by brothers: Hugh Thompson and Harry
Thompson.
Prior to retirement, Florence worked for many years at
Connors Brothers in Blacks Harbour. A quiet soul, Florence enjoyed
sitting on the porch swing and being surrounded by her family,
especially her grandchildren. She was a gardener with a “green
thumb” and there wasn’t a seed Florence could not grow.
She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home
(755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. In keeping with
Florence’s wishes there will be no visiting. A private
family service will be held. In Florence’s memory, donations
to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by
the family.
