Matthew O’Brien
1985-2023
With sadness, our family shares the loss of Matthew Fredrick
O’Brien, 37, of Riverview, NB on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, a
beloved son, partner, brother and friend.
Born on December 19th, 1985, he was the son of Russell and
Melanie O’Brien.
Matthew was a former student of the Moncton Christian Academy
and McNaughton High School. He had a natural gift for woodworking and
loved taking things apart to make them even better than before. Take,
for example, his love of disc golf, because regular golf just wouldn’t
do. He also had a heart to help is friends and
neighbours.
Matt was well-known for his straight-faced delivery of bad
jokes and knee-slappers; we didn’t always get them, but they’ve since
“groan” on us. Matt, you truly were
“pun-in-a-million”!
Matt leaves behind his loving companion, Heather Linkletter
and their four beautiful fur-babies; his parents, Russell and Melanie
O’Brien and younger brother Liam O’Brien, grandparents Art and Joyce
Perry. Predeceased by grandparents Frederick and Betty
O’Brien.
A celebration of life will be held at Salisbury Funeral Home,
3350 Route 106 (506-372-4800) on Wednesday, November 29th from 6pm to
8pm.
If desired, donations in memory of Matthew may be made to a
cause that is near and dear to the giver’s heart.
